In April so far, we have provided grants of over £1480 to fund: essential needs for three Sussex families, funded the development of the garden area at East Sussex County Council's Shinewater Family Hub as well as gardening/planting supplies for Penhill Playgroup (Lancing), Worthing charity Andy's Angels, Windmills Junior School (Hassocks) & Windmills Playgroup (Burgess Hill), 10th Haywards Heath Scouts, Southwater Infant Academy as well as funding a Plumpton College student project at Adur Bowls Club and a summer house for Annecy Primary (Seaford).

On 7th April we had a lovely get together at Adastra Hall, Hassocks to thank 50 of our amazing volunteers who have helped us raise an incredible £417,000 for young people over the past ten years. THANK YOU all so much as well as our friends at Tates of Sussex Garden Centres who have made this possible.

Founder Clive facilitated two coach trips of Visitors (100+) in one week to The Museum of Gardening as well as showcasing the Museum at the Ardingly Spring Live! Show.

In March, we provided grants of almost £1000 to help fund essential household items for a local family in need, fill vegetable beds/patches for both Slindon School and Steyning Primary School, we have supported Billingshurst Primary School and Jolesfield Primary School's (Horsham) grounds update appeals and provided gardening equipment and seeds for West Hove Infants Saplings and wild garden Projects. Last month, we again co-funded The Kings Church Family Fun Sessions in Burgess Hill, run in the school holidays for families with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities. We have also supplied equipment for them to do planting and bird house painting activities.

In February, we provided grants over £320 to help fund essential household items for a local family in need as well as equipment for the Ansty Colts Super 1’s Disability Cricket Team, based near Haywards Heath.

Founder Clive gave talks about our Museum of Gardening at the Shoreham Fort AGM, held at the Shoreham Yacht Club as well as to local history group Lancing & Sompting Pathfinders.

In January, we provided grants over £1194 to: help fund essential household items for two local families in need and also funded lots of topsoil for planters for Burnside, a dynamic day-opportunity service providing support for people with a variety of care and support needs in Burgess Hill. The allotment group will grow a range of crops and produce that will be donated to local churches and food banks – and also be used within their cooking sessions. We have also provided a grant for many garden tools for alternative education provider Develop Outdoors which supports young people in East Sussex & Brighton & Hove aged 11-18 years and provides creative activities and Forest Schools for groups of children aged 5 -14 years.
